Youth Basketball Program - Summer 2024

HOUSE is our flagship program which provides a recreational basketball opportunity to any and all kids - regardless of experience or talent level.  This is the level for all kids to learn the game, hone their skills, learn about competition and sportsmanship and, most importantly have fun!  ALL kids will get equal playing time.

There will be equal playing time and kids are encouraged to play all positions and develop all-around basketball skills. Our goal is to improve every child's understanding and love of the game while they get great exercise.

Divisions:

• Boys - Grades 1 & 2 (Instructional) - Tuesdays, June 25th - August 20th (5:30-7:30pm)
• Boys - Grades 3 & 4 (League Format) - Thursdays, June 27th - August 29th (4:30-6:30pm)
• Boys - Grades 5 & 6 (League Format) - Wednesdays, June 26th - August 21st (4:30-6:30pm)
• Boys - Grades 7 & 8 (League Format) - Wednesdays, June 26th - August 21st (6:30-8:30pm)
• Girls - Grades 1 & 2 (Instructional) - Tuesdays, June 25th - August 20th (4:30-5:30pm)
• Girls - Grades 3 & 4 (League Format) - Thursdays, June 27th - August 29th (6:30-8:30pm)
• Girls - Grades 5 & 6 (League Format) - Mondays, June 24th - August 19th (4:30-6:30pm)
• Girls - Grades 7, 8 & 9 (League Format) - Mondays, June 24th - August 19th (6:30-8:30pm)

Instructional Program (Grades 1 & 2) Information:

• This is an instructional program
• Repeated & detailed training on core fundamentals of basketball: Ball Handling, Shooting, Rebounding, Defense
• We will work towards getting the players into small sided games and scrimmaging as the season progresses.
• Recreation leaders will provide the instruction for this program.

League Program (Grades 3 and up) Information: 

• During the first week, we will assess each players skill level which will lead towards team assignments for the league.
• Recreation Leaders will lead each team. 
• All teams will have one game per week.
• Weekly games complete with two professional officials per game & scorekeepers.
• Season runs from end of June to mid-August

Player Placement Requests:

• We do not honor requests for friends to be placed on the same team. Only siblings will be guaranteed same team placement.  This policy exists because we simply can't honor the high volume of player placement requests while also ensuring teams are competitively balanced.

• Red Brick Outdoor Court - 145 N. 4th Street, Lewiston, NY 14092
• Games get moved inside Red Brick Gym if there is bad weather.

Cost:

• Grades 1 & 2 (Instructional) - Cost $25 (Residents of LP School District) $40 (Non-Residents)
• Grades 3-9 (League Format) - Cost $50 (Residents of LP School District) $ 65 (Non-Residents)
